Upper-Division Transfer Admission Requirements
To qualify for admission as an upper- division transfer, applicants must complete 90 or more quarter (60 or more semester) CSU-transferable units and have met the following requirements:
■ Must complete at least 45 quarter (30 semester) units of general education courses. Visit www. ASSIST.org for a listing of De Anza courses that meet CSU general education requirements.

Lower-Division Transfer Admission Requirements
An applicant who completes fewer than 90 quarter (60 semester) units of college credit is considered a lower-division transfer student. Due to enrollment pressures, most CSU campuses do not admit lower-division transfers so that more upper-division transfers can be accommodated.
Having fewer than 90 quarter (60 semester) units at the point of transfer may a ect eligibility for registration priority at CSU campuses and may a ect the student’s nancial aid status.
California resident transfer applicants with fewer than 90 quarter (60 semester) units must:
■ Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C) or better in all transferable units attempted
Have completed, with a grade of
C- or better, a course in written communication and a course
in mathematics or quantitative reasoning at a level satisfying CSU General Education Breadth Areas A2 and B4 requirements, respectively
Be in good standing at the last institution attended
Meet any one of the following eligibility standards:
o Transfer Based on Current Admission Criteria
Meet the freshman admission requirements in e ect for the term for which application is  led;
– OR –
o Transfer Based on High School Eligibility
Was eligible as a freshman at the time of high school graduation and has been in continuous attendance in an accredited college since high school graduation;
– OR –
o Transfer Based on Making Up Missing Subjects:
Had a quali able eligibility index at the time of high school graduation (combination of GPA and test scores if needed), has made up any missing college preparatory subject requirements with a grade of C- or better, and has been in continuous attendance in an accredited college since high school graduation
One baccalaureate level course of at least 4 quarter (3 semester) units is usually considered equivalent to one year of high school study.
Many CSU campuses have impacted majors while several CSU campuses are impacted in all majors. Students interested in an impacted major or campus must apply for admission during the initial application ling period. Applications for admission to impacted majors and campuses are not accepted after the initial ling period. Consideration for admission to any impacted major or campus is contingent on rst meeting the regular admission requirements for the CSU. As a result of impaction, completion of the minimum eligibility requirements may not be su cient for admission. Supplementary admission criteria are used to screen all applicants for
admission to impacted majors.
Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) to the CSU
 e Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act (SB 1440) established an Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) for CCC students. The AA-T/AS-T degrees are designed to provide a pathway to a CSU degree major. For information on meeting the requirements for an AA-T/ AS-T degree, students should consult with a counselor or academic adviser in the De Anza Transfer Center or Counseling and Advising Center.
To view a current list of De Anza AA-T/ AS-T degrees, visitdeanza.edu/academics/ degrees-and-certi cates.html. Visitdeanza. edu/articulation/apply-adt.htm to view information about how to apply for an AA-T/AS-T degree at De Anza.
TRANSFER TO PRIVATE
AND OUT-OF-STATE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
Private (or independent) and out-of-state colleges and universities have transfer admissions requirements that are speci c to each campus and major. For information on private colleges and universities in California, visit www.californiacolleges.edu. is website provides online resources to help students choose an institution that best match their needs and interests. Information on transfer admission requirements and transfer credit policies for out-of-state colleges and universities can be found in university catalogs and on school websites.
GUARANTEED ADMISSION
A Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) or Transfer Admission Agreement (TAA), is a commitment that select colleges and universities provide to De Anza students who ful ll speci c GPA and course requirements. A TAG/TAA serves as a contract between a student and a transfer college or university. Students who complete a TAG/TAA and meet the contractual requirements are guaranteed admission to the university. Guaranteed admission contracts are generally written one year prior to transfer.
Students may prepare for a TAG/TAA by working with a counselor or academic adviser early in their academic career to develop an education plan for transfer.
